BLACKPINK has released their first Korean mini-album. This work is an extension of their previously released SQUARE series.

The album title, "SQUARE UP," means "Let's stand up" or "Let's fight," and conveys the message of "Let's stand up with dignity" through BLACKPINK's more mature and stronger music and concept.

The title track, "DDU-DU DDU-DU," showcases BLACKPINK's unique musical style with a powerful trap beat, percussion rhythm, and a unique whistle lead sound. The lyrics were written by YG producer TEDDY, who has worked on all of BLACKPINK's songs since their debut. 24, R.Tee, and Bekuh Boom also participated in the composition alongside TEDDY, further enhancing the album's refined quality.
