Beskrivelse
Ultra-wide-angle single focal length L lens with bold perspective expression VCM for fast, quiet autofocusing RF20mm F1.4 L VCM is now available in the new generation, F1.4 L lens series, which meets the demands of creators who freely move between still and moving images for expression and can capture more dramatic images. The RF20mm f/1.4 L VCM is the latest addition to the RF20mm f/1.4 L series. By continuing to expand the lineup of lenses based on the same concept that meet the high demands of professionals in both still and moving image photography, we aim to expand the scope of shooting and expression not only in still photography but also in image production.
Unique expression utilizing strong perspective and bokeh The combination of a 20mm angle of view that captures a spacious world beyond the visual perception of the naked eye and a large F1.4 aperture adds a rich bokeh element to the ultra-wide angle, enabling video expression that brings the subject into dynamic relief. Low-sensitivity, low-noise image expression even in dark places The brightness of the large aperture, single focal length lens can be used to record low-sensitivity, low-noise images of night scenes and dark places. Even with slow shutter speeds, the subject can be captured sharply. Sharp reproduction of point images such as starscapes even at the periphery. By properly arranging two aspherical lens elements, we have reduced the Sagittal coma flare and achieved high reproducibility of point images even at the periphery of the image. Illuminations and starry landscapes are sharply rendered right to the periphery of the image. Powerful and high-speed drive of large-diameter lens by VCM The rear-focus system is adopted and the focus lens group is driven by a VCM (voice coil motor), which is characterized by its high thrust. The actuator is capable of driving the focus lens group, which has a large mass, at high speed and with high precision, achieving both high image quality and agile AF.
The VCM used in the RF20mm F1.4 L VCM is an actuator that converts electrical energy into kinetic energy using the energy of a magnet (magnetic field) as a medium. The VCM used in the RF20mm F1.4 L VCM moves the coil back and forth in the magnetic field created by the driving magnet to linearly drive the focus lens unit to which the coil is fixed. Weak magnetism is generated from the electromagnetic drive components built into the VCM. If you are using an implantable cardiac pacemaker or other medical device, please leave the product and consult your doctor if you feel any abnormality. When the lens is not attached to the camera or when the camera's power switch is turned off with the lens attached, shaking the lens may cause the internal lens group to move, which may generate noise. This is not a malfunction. Even if the internal lens group moves due to vibration when the lens is carried, it will not affect the performance of the camera. The combination of the RF20mm F1.4 VCM with the rear focus system driven by the smooth and highly accurate AF VCM and the Dual Pixel Intelligent AF and Dual Pixel CMOS AF II onboard the EOS R1/R5 Mark II allows for quiet operation in movie shooting and still image shooting. The combination of the EOS R1/R5 Mark II's Dual Pixel Intelligent AF and Dual Pixel CMOS AF II enables the camera to capture high-quality movies with quiet operation that smoothly follows the subject's movement and touch focus operation. The camera also provides high-speed, high-precision AF for still images. Control Algorithm Suitable for Servo AF & Continuous Shooting The VCM that powerfully drives the large-diameter, large-mass lens group is controlled by a high-performance microprocessor and matched with the AF algorithm on the camera body to accommodate changes in shooting styles, such as high-speed continuous shooting with an electronic shutter and regular use of servo AF by subject detection. The new camera is designed to accommodate changes in shooting styles, such as high-speed continuous shooting with an electronic shutter and servo AF with subject detection. Combined with the excellent high-speed AF speed, this makes “quick grab,” “continuous grab,” and “stable tracking” of the AF even more comfortable. In addition, with cameras that support electronic full-time manual focus, manual focus is always possible* in both one-shot AF and servo AF. Stable composition video recording with very little breathing In consideration of performance in video recording, the optical design suppresses changes in the angle of view due to focus shift = breathing. Therefore, even when combined with a camera body that does not have electronic focus breathing correction, video recording can be performed with a very stable composition. Furthermore, the stability is further enhanced when the focus breathing correction is turned on for camera bodies that support the correction. Compact design with a length of 99.3mm and a weight of 519g. The lens shares the same exterior as the RF24mm F1.4 L VCM, RF35mm F1.4 L VCM, and RF50mm F1.4 L VCM, all of which are lightweight and compact in design. The lens is designed for ease of use in the field, such as the ability to use a 67mm diameter front filter and the ability to shoot video using a gimbal with less adjustment when changing lenses. Iris ring for smooth aperture control during movie shooting The iris ring enables manual control of the aperture during movie shooting, and is the same control system as that of the RF35mm F1.4 L VCM. It enables smooth aperture control without a clicking sensation, and its rotation direction is aligned with that of the CINEMA EOS SYSTEM cinema lenses, so it can be operated without discomfort even during movie shooting. Highly customizable for personalized operation The functions of buttons and switches can be customized to suit the user's workflow. A rear filter holder can be attached to the mount side, allowing the use of two filters (front and rear) for creative expression.
《Rear Filter Holder (included)》 A rear filter holder is included in the package to attach a sheet-type filter at the rear of the lens, in addition to the Φ67mm screw-in filter at the front of the lens. Download the pattern file from the URL provided in the instruction manual, cut the filter according to the shape of the printed pattern, and insert it into the rear filter holder. Only one filter with a thickness of 0.2 mm or less can be used. When the rear filter is not used, remove the holder as light conditions may cause ghosting.
