[Kurume-ori Samue]
This is a purely domestic yarn-dyed work uniform woven in our own factory.
Until a while ago, samue was sold as a specialized type of kimono for monks. Kurume-ori Samue is an everyday garment that can be worn at home. Production began in the latter half of the Showa era, and until then, few people wore it for daily wear. However, it gained a reputation for being of good quality due to its production background, which included dyeing, weaving, and sewing, and it was sold nationwide.
Many fans purchase our products repeatedly due to the Kurume-made brand and trust, and we also have many overseas fans. It is used by a variety of people including monks, Japanese restaurants, inns, martial artists, potters, writers, painters, and calligraphers.
*Threads that are woven after being dyed are generally called yarn-dyed. Plain fabrics produced overseas are often piece-dyed (white fabrics dyed later) for better production efficiency, but they often have poor fastness, so if you wash them and dry them in the sun, they may get sunburned and become unwearable immediately, or the washing water may become cloudy. The durability of the unique color of a dyed product is called color fastness. (We perform various tests according to JIS standards and display the product on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.) This product has been verified to have data of grade 4 or higher (dry friction), which is sufficient for cotton fabrics, so you can wear it with confidence.
