BAKUCHIOL:
natural phenol isolated from the plant Psoralea Corylifolia, also known as Indian babcha;
the structure of bakuchiol is very different from retinol, but it affects the same genes and cell receptors as retinol;
unlike retinol, it does not thin the stratum corneum (there is no “parchment skin” feeling) and does not cause erythema (the face maintains a calm tone and no inflammation).
