Depending on the drum-type washing machine, detergent used, and piping conditions, foam may backflow into the washing machine pan when draining laundry. Installing a foam backflow prevention valve in the odor-prevention pipe improves backflow prevention performance.

A dedicated tool, M44PK, is available for installation.
This trap can be used with the MB8064C, MB8064R, MB8064L, MB6464, MB7464, and MB6060 watertight pans.
