The backdrop of "The Battle of Chu and Han" is the dynastic intrigues of ancient China, during the eve of and during the Chu-Han War of 206-202 BC.
Two powers, the Han and the Chu, compete to overthrow the weakened Qin rulers and establish China's first true dynasty.
Historically, the Chu were initially stronger, but the Han ultimately defeated their rivals.
Can you outwit your arch-rivals and usher in a new dynasty?
In "The Battle of Chu and Han," players are divided into two factions: the Chu and the Han.
A game consists of four to seven "battles," in which players must use up all their cards in their hand and be the first to "conclude."
Each battle consists of a series of exchanges, with the first player playing one or more "pairs."
Pairs must be cards of the same rank (number), after which the opponent can either play a pair of higher-ranked cards with the same number of cards, or pass.
The player who does not pass wins the exchange and gets the next turn first.
Most victory points are earned by completing the game, and the first player to reach 31 points wins.
The cards feature various characters from the Chu and Han camps, and many have unique abilities that can earn victory points or change the way cards are played.
Set in the prehistoric Chinese battles known as the "surrounded by enemies" proverb, this two-player card game features fascinating characters such as Han Xin and Zhang Liang, and offers exciting tactics despite simple rules.
There is also a campaign mode, allowing you to enjoy recreating historical events.
