This is a back cover malt (shading sponge) replacement kit for Canon A-1.
If the malt on the back lid and mirror holder is worn out, sticky, or no longer useful, you can easily replace the malt with this pre-cut malt kit. You can use it with confidence as there is no light leakage and back lid rattling.
In the case of straight malts, the curved portions are forcibly bent, resulting in twisting, but with this special malt, the curved portions of the grooves are also laser cut to match the shape, so naturally twisting will not occur.
Contains 3 sets (for 3 cameras).
1. Peel off the old malt with the included bamboo skewer and clean it. 2. Dip a cotton swab in alcohol or benzene and rub it to remove dirt from the area to be pasted. 3. Peel the new malt from the backing paper. 4. Apply alcohol or water to the sticky side. While the adhesive side is moistened with alcohol or water, the adhesive strength of the tape is temporarily reduced, making it easier to align and reapply. 5. Place the malt roughly aligned over the groove. 6. Use a flathead screwdriver or a flattened bamboo skewer to push the malt into the malt so that it does not tip over. Reapplying will work as long as the alcohol or water does not dry, so please work calmly.
